| He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Sifford is a certified mediator and has, since 1988, served as an arbitrator in complex securities cases and disputes involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He has served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at the Southern Methodist University - Dedman School of Law for almost 20 years.
Mr. Sifford is a diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA") and in 2007, he served as the National President of this prestigious organization. In 1997, he was awarded the National Masters in Trial Award by ABOTA. He was also named as Texas Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2000 by the Texas Chapters of ABOTA. In 2001, Mr. Sifford was the only defense lawyer named by D Magazine among Dallas' best personal injury lawyers, and in 2003 and 2004 was named one of the "Best Lawyers in Dallas." He has been repeatedly named by Texas Monthly as one of the state's "Super Lawyers." Mr. Sifford is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the most prestigious legal associations in America.
Mr. Sifford has participated in over 125 trial demonstrations in 26 states for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy ("NITA") and ABOTA. He has served the legal profession by making Continuing Legal Education presentations for the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the University of Houston Law Center, Baylor University School of Law, the University of Texas School of Law and many others. In 1992, Mr. Sifford was selected by the American Bar Association to participate in a trial demonstration at the University of Moscow to assist in establishing the Civil Trial Jury Institute of Russia.
