| He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Sifford has served as an arbitrator in complex securities cases and disputes involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at the Southern Methodist University - Dedman School of Law for 20 years.
Mr. Sifford is a diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”), one of the most prestigious legal associations in the United States. In 1997, he was the national winner of Masters in Trial Award presented by ABOTA. He was also named as the Texas Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2000 by the Texas Chapters of the American Board of Trial Advocates. One of his most significant honors was his election to serve as the 2007 National President of ABOTA.
Mr. Sifford has been repeatedly named by D Magazine as one of the “Best Lawyers in Dallas” and by Texas Monthly as one of the state’s “Super Lawyers”. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American College of Legal Medicine.
Mr. Sifford has participated in over 125 trial demonstrations in 26 states for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and ABOTA. He has served the legal profession by making Continuing Legal Education presentations for the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the University of Houston Law Center, Baylor University School of Law, the University of Texas School of Law and many others. In 1992, Mr. Sifford was selected by the American Board of Trial Advocates to participate in a trial demonstration at the University of Moscow to assist in establishing the Civil Trial Jury Institute of Russia. In 2010, Mr. Sifford was a member of the faculty of the inaugural ABOTA Trial College at Princeton University. He was also the Trial College’s accredited speaker on Ethics.
